Day 86 of 100 - Why Mom's ROCK!
March 27th.
If you read my post about the Go-Giver a few days ago my Mother falls into that category. She listens to me talk about every little detail of my Crossfit Games experience like I was 13 years old. That is just one of the MANY reasons Chelsea and I like to go down to Houston to visit. Here are a couple more....
My Mom and her soulmate John (think Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell) bought a normal house in Katy on a couple of acres 7 years ago. Ever seen a house with potential??
The difference between them and most folks is that John is a genius with his hands and my Mom is a bundle of never ending energy.... and in the past 7 years have transformed that place into a Garden of Eden.
We sit in the backyard and visit or read if we want, feeling the breeze and smelling the flowers. Super peaceful.
AND though we regularly made fun of my Mom growing up for being a less than stellar cook (she loves to tell the story of us using her bread as a baseball bat)....she has spent the last 20 years becoming a virtual gourmet chef. She made egg whites and light sausage for breakfast and chicken breast cooked in Olive Oil with my bacon and mushrooms for dinner. All in about the time it would take me to order it from Outback and go pick it up.
Here is to you Mom! What an incredible example you set!
(oh and Chelsea got her up on Facebook so she can read my 8 year old niece's post, too funny)
