What Does It Feel Like To Do A 40 Hour Fast?
The 40 hour fast is a bonus in the Fat Shocker.
First off, you’re gonna like the 40 hour fast! Oh my goodness!
So the first thing I’m gonna throw out there to you is that this is not unusual in the history of the earth. In fact, turn to any of your respected chosen religious leaders, whatever they may be, they have all got fasting in their life. One day, one week, 40 days… why is that? If you study any of that stuff, they all feel like it brings them closer to God. Which, I will tell you, if you do a 40 hour fast, it does bring you closer to God, in whatever you believe.
Now, I don’t lead with that because that wouldn’t go over well in a Facebook marketing ad. Do a 40 hour fast, it brings you closer to God!
After you listen to me for a while, and you get a sense of me trying to teach these tools, these strategies, techniques, so you can feel that divine vibration, you get to understand that this is not about weight loss. Yes, you’re going to experience weight loss as the plan is designed so that your human biology will shed excess fat, but it’s about discovering that Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and self-actualization.
A lot of people, even though they may not know it, associate that with getting closer to God.
So, a 40 hour fast, it’s just not that unusual.
I challenge you to go on the internet and find one negative thing about a 40 hour fast. I have not been able to.
Let Me Tell You What You Will Get Out Of A 40 Hour Fast
What you will find is that, once you pass 36 hours, there’s a five exponent spike in your human growth hormone. And what does a human growth hormone do?
I think we all know that several people have been caught trying to get human growth hormones illegally so that they could shed body fat, right?
I am not a proponent of illegal help. I don’t even like crazy supplements and I don’t push any! I give you recommendations on stuff that I take that are consistent with my rules, but I feel like it waters down my message to push that stuff.
If you fast for over 36 hours:
- You’ll get a spike in human growth hormone.
- You’ll start to feel euphoric,
- you’ll start to feel spiritual.
- Your digestive system gets a chance to reset.
- Your liver gets cleansed and is ready to process food at 100%.
It is a tremendously effective tool.
You may think, well I can’t work out if I don’t eat.
Yes You Can
Your body is very effective, evolutionary speaking, at taking stored energy. Usually in places that you wish it weren’t, and converting it into usable energy. It’s gonna take that stored fat and turn it into glucose for you to use. So, when you hit that workout, it’ll be there for you.
Now, I will coach people on that 40 hour fast.
You cannot go 100%, because you don’t have enough electrolytes in your system, so your calves will start to cramp and stuff like that. But, you can work out at 50 to 70%. Because of that reason, and because I think it’s more effective to do the fast with supplements, I’ve added some things to the 40 hour fast.
In my Fat Shocker guidebook, I’ve got it written up for you, but you can have water, sparkling water and you can use zero calorie additives to water.
Is It Hard?
It may seem scary and I know you can’t imagine not eating for 40 hours.
I’ve done it many times, and of course, the more you do it, the more you get used to it.
So What Happens?
You stop eating at 7:00 on Saturday night.
You go to bed, and wake up about 7 a.m.
At about the 12 to 14 hour mark, between 7 and 9am, when your body is habitually used to having food, your body will secrete hormones to elicit hunger. Ghrelin is what it’s called. You get the hunger pang, and it’s the toughest part. You get through it, you might even get a little nauseous.
Don’t worry, sweat, breathe, drink some water, get doing something, go get busy, not a problem. Go work out, it will pass.
You get up into that 18-19 hour mark, then you think, damn I haven’t eaten.
All day long, though, because you’ve never done it before, you’re gonna be like, I wonder what I’m gonna have for lunch. Oh snap! I’m not having lunch! So, if you’re like me, food in life with your kids, and your job, and your work, and your family, and your friends, food becomes a real pain in the ass sometimes. But I tell you what, 18 or 19 out of 20 people that do it will tell you it was kind of a nice respite from having to think about food and what’s happening all the time.
You’re going to go to bed, but you might have a little bit of difficulty falling sleep because when you fast, there’s an adrenaline spike, especially if you haven’t done it before. So, there might be a little trouble sleeping.
When I’m doing a fast, I just tell myself, oh it’s good, I’m fasting, and everything in my body’s resetting.
If I don’t get as good a sleep, I’ll get it tomorrow.
I just talk myself through it. Go to sleep, get up the next day. This is when you start to feel euphoric, I cannot believe I went an entire day already without putting chewable food in my mouth! Holy moly! This is spiritual, this is divine! I can see why these guys and ladies do it! And then, 10am is going to come around, and you’re going to be sad that you’re going to have to break the fast.
You almost start thinking about, I wonder if I can take this longer.
You can go up to 44 or 46 hours before you start experiencing law of diminishing returns, but I usually tell people to have something prepared to eat that they really like.
That’s the 40 hour fast.
You woke up super light. Your body is craving excellent food.
I promise you, after 40 hours of fasting, you might think, oh my god, I’m gonna eat the house down.
No you won’t.
People that have done it, don’t want to eat crap. You’re so cleansed, the only thing going through your mind is to eat clean.
I found it to be an excellent way to reset from a vacation, to just get your mind reset if you’re not where you want to be with your food, or to start a Fat Shocker. It’s a great setup, because guess what? All that Fat Shocker food looks gourmet and fantastic once you come out of a 40 hour fast, and it’s all there to make you feel like a billion dollars!
